About Brad Kelly...

Brad Kelly has a professional lifetime of experience in overseeing the planning and development of luxury real estate properties throughout the world – ranging from large single-family estate homes to premier country club and resort properties to luxury high-rise condominiums.  He is the principal of his own firm, Brad Kelly & Associates, LLC based in Dallas, Texas where he provides residential home development consulting and project management services to highest-end residential projects — primarily in Dallas, but also in Aspen, Hawaii and other affluent markets. As an advocate for the Homeowner, he directs a home’s development from its planning, budgeting and design stage through its construction and ultimate move-in.  This incorporates all aspects of a project, usually starting with the negotiation of contracts with architects, custom home builders, interior designers, landscape architects, et al., on behalf of the Homeowner. This continues with value engineering and the oversight of the physical development of the residence itself in addition to its zoning, permitting, financial accounting, landscaping, irrigation, landscape lighting, security and other features that make the property complete.

From 1985 to 2002, Mr. Kelly was an executive with ClubCorp, Inc., also in Dallas where he served in a variety of roles – primarily consulting on the development of private membership clubs and resort properties throughout the world, including Pinehurst, the Homestead and numerous gated residential resort communities that cater to affluent clientele. These developments were located in markets as urban as New York and Paris and as rural as the lowlands of the Carolinas, including properties throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America.  Following the sale of ClubCorp in 2002, Mr. Kelly was invited by a Chicago real estate group to spearhead the development of a luxury waterfront community as well as several premier high-rise condominium projects in which he worked closely with renowned French architect Lucien Lagrange for several years.  Upon the completion of these projects, Mr. Kelly returned to Dallas where he now serves in his consultant role to individuals and families in the planning, renovation or development of large customized single-family homes – both primary and secondary residences – designed and built to the highest luxury standards with budgets generally ranging from $5M to $75M excluding land costs.

In short, Mr. Kelly provides direction and management to the home-building process – acting at all times in the best interest of the Homeowner throughout the entire ground-up development, expansion or renovation.  This “Concierge / Project Manager / Owner’s Rep” role allows the Homeowner to stay as much or as little involved with the project as he or she wishes, but without the headaches and time involved in overseeing every minute detail, the day-to-day tasks and the multiple teams of people associated with completing the project.  As the constant advocate for the Homeowner, he interfaces daily with the architect, general contractor, interior designer, landscape designer and others who are vital to the project. It is Mr. Kelly’s role to ensure that all parties work together and stay on track, carrying out the objectives and plans of the Homeowner on time and on budget.  He makes things happen when they are supposed to happen! It is also Mr. Kelly’s role to ensure that all invoices submitted to the Homeowner are accurate and indeed match up to services rendered before the Homeowner releases any funds. He provides meticulous project accounting and delivers to the Homeowner a monthly accounting summary of expenses to date in comparison to budget.

Mr. Kelly is a fair, but strong negotiator of the numerous design, construction and other contracts associated with a home’s development. He is extremely diplomatic but stern in carrying out the Homeowner’s wishes — in terms of both design and budget.  In addition, he has a discerning eye and has a close professional relationship with some of the finest architects, custom home builders, interior decorators, landscapers, lighting designers, structural engineers, art and antique dealers, sculptors, furniture vendors, design magazine editors and others who could be helpful or a good match to each home project. He has a longstanding and excellent working relationship with some of the top tradesmen in their field – from painting contractors to landscape designers to roofers to lighting designers to stone and tile masons to home security advisors to pool contractors.  Mr. Kelly is gifted in putting together and managing home-building teams who are talented and well-matched – both in terms of skill set and in personality – to the home and to the Homeowner which is so important.

In addition to the above, Mr. Kelly is an experienced publicist, luxury marketing advisor, editor, public speaker, world traveler and journalist and has strong interest in health and physical fitness, international politics, architecture, landscape, performing arts and film. He is an active member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the Luxury Marketing Council of Dallas, the Dallas Architectural Forum and numerous arts organizations.  He likewise has close ties to the editors of Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, World of Interiors and Veranda magazines in addition to top Dallas and international home and garden publications. He received his BBA in finance and marketing in 1978 from the University of Oklahoma and his MBA in 1979 from Southern Methodist University.

Mr. Kelly’s clients include some of the most discerning families and CEO’s in Dallas, Fort Worth, Aspen and elsewhere and his dossier includes some of the finest homes in the world.  Recent Dallas projects include prestigious properties on Strait Lane, Hunters Glen, Beverly Drive, Vassar, Euclid, Park Lane, Bordeaux and Brookview Drive – among others – where he has directed and managed:
